Cuisinart Coffee Maker Instructions

I have a Cuisinart coffee maker I just got this past January. It was tasting ok and now it tastes alot like water, no matter how much coffee I put in. I cleaned it with the instructions it came with and still tastes the same. What I don't get is my fiances parents were over last week and they have a Cuisinart coffee maker also and her mother made it the same way they do and it still tastes like the way I make it. She made it the way she does back at they're place and it tastes like coffee at they're place. I don't know what to do if she makes it like she always does and still tastes like the way I make it, Somethings wrong.
Its a 12 cup and I am thinking of getting a 4 cup Cuisinart coffee maker from Sears.
