Is the De'Longhi (BCO264B) or the Krups (XP2070) a better machine? When I say better i mean which one makes better tasting beverages (coffee and expresso, etc.) and what type of beverages is the mechine able to make. FInally, do either brew at the optimal 200 degrees farenheit when it comes to drip coffee?

There is not a lot of difference between any coffee machine, it is the requisite that the water is the right temperature, that is about all. Just another expensive gadget to go with the sandwich toaster,waffle maker, doughnut maker, bread maker, pasta roller, juice extractor, blender, egg poacher and many others.

A cafetiere takes up less space, costs less and does a perfect job. Let the kettle boil, leave it for 10 minutes then use, the water is about right temperature then.

It is the blend of coffee which makes the difference. A little experimenting with how much you like to get the strength right and there you go.

The only gadget I would invest in is a whisk for frothy milk if you like that with your coffee. A stick blender will do the job too with hot skimmed milk and the stick blender is useful for making sauces, soups, taking the lumps out of gravy, milk shakes, batters and costs less than $ 10

I gave up spending money on gadgets.

All I have now is a multi purpose mixer/liquidiser whisk, the stick blender (third one) deep fryer, toaster and electric kettle.
